Prediction models for energy consumption and surface quality in stainless steel milling
نویسندگان
چکیده
Stainless steel is a kind of difficult-to-machine material, and the work hardening in milling easily leads to high energy consumption poor surface quality. Thus, influence machined hardness on quality cannot be ignored. To solve this problem, prediction models for machine tool specific roughness are developed with wear considered firstly. Then, validity verified through AISI 304 stainless experiments. The results show that accuracy model can reach 98.7%, 96.8%. Later, according models, parameters, hardness, studied. Results milling, most significant parameter while feed per tooth. increases linearly increase gradually. proposed helpful optimize process parameters energy-saving high-quality machining steel.

In this paper, low cycle fatigue life of CK45 steel and SS316 stainless steel under strain-controlled loading are experimentally investigated. In addition, the impact of mean strain and strain amplitude on the fatigue life and cyclic behavior of the materials are studied. Furthermore, it is attempted to predict fatigue life using energy and SWT damage parameters. The experimental results demons...
متن کاملThe energy benefit of stainless steel recycling
The energy used to produce austenitic stainless steel was quantified throughout its entire life cycle for three scenarios: (1) current global operations, (2) 100% recycling, and (3) use of only virgin materials. Data are representative of global average operations in the early 2000s. The primary energy requirements to produce 1 metric ton of austenitic stainless steel (with assumed metals conce...
متن کاملThe Interaction between Hydrogen and Surface Stress in Stainless Steel
This paper reveals the interaction between hydrogen and surface stress in austenitic stainless steel by X-ray diffraction stress measurement and thermal desorption analysis before and after being charged with hydrogen. The surface residual stress was varied by surface finishing using several disc polishing agents. The obtained results show that the residual stress near surface had a significant...
